¡¡ACCEPTED!!

I got the call this morning to tell me that I've been accepted into the nursing program at Pima Medical Institute that starts Aug. 31st... WWWWHHHOOOOO- HHHHHOOOOOO!!! I'm SO excited! I was nervous that I wouldn't get in because they don't have a waiting list like MCC (where if you apply you will be accepted, but you might have to wait for like 2 years before you can start). Pima's selection process is based off of your academic achievements, work history, personality (all that good stuff) and they choose the top 36 applicants for the program. There were a TON of people putting in for this cycle, so I feel like I had to work harder to get accepted at this school. I'm VERY excited!! It feels like I'm actually getting closer to achieving my goal :D! I know the next 2 years are going to be hard (having to leave Roman when I'm doing 10-14 hour clinical rotations) but I know it's going to be totally worth it! I feel so grateful to have this opportunity to progress :)!!

¡¡SÜMMER!!

Anthon had Monday off, so we took Roman swimming for the first time... It was LOTS of fun!!

This was right after I dunked him-
No tears... YAY :D

Call us crazy, but we love Arizona summers!! We love the dry heat & especially swimming in it! Well, I should clarify that Anthon DOESN'T love working in the heat (just playing in it), but he's been working his booty off lately despite the high temps! Speaking of which, if anybody needs a good bug man CALL ANTHON!! His boss will send us on a 7 day cruise if he gets 50 sales this summer (he's just about 1/2 way there!). Come on, help a brotha' out while killing your bugs :)!

Mother's Day

Since this is my first Mother's Day, I wondered if it would be weird being able to actually celebrate being a mom with everyone else... Of course, it's not :). I love being a new mom & I am SO thankful for my sweet little boy- he is such a blessing in our life!! I remember how excited I was on Mother's Day last year knowing I would be a mom this year (I found out I was pregnant the Sunday before Mother's Day last year). Now, I'm still just as excited to be a mom & experience all the wonder & joy that comes along with it! It's funny how the smallest things in life now bring me the greatest joy (from a smile, to a cuddle, to just Roman's smell)! Motherhood truly is a divine calling- I'm so thankful the call was finally extended to me!!

check up = shots

Roman had his 4 month check up & along with that came booster immunizations- man I wish all vaccines could be given orally! His stats today were:

Weight: 15.2 lbs.- 50%
Height: 26.5 in.- 95%
Head: 43 cm- 50%
He fits into the categories for his age pretty much the same as he was at his 2 month check up- average head & weight, but really tall. We tried giving him some rice cereal since he's been eating me out of house & home these past few weeks! Did he like it?? See for yourself:Not a fan- spit every bit out!
