We decided to go to California to celebrate Anthon's birthday & our wedding anniversary. We brought my mom with us so she could watch Roman for us if we wanted to go on some "big kid" rides & while we went out at night. It was a great trip filled with a lot of fun!! Check out all 4 posts below to see everything we did!
I had to include this picture of Roman on our drive out there. We put him in his upright car seat (which I WON, by the way) & he loved it! It's more spacious than the carrier car seat, so he was a lot more comfortable. He just watched his movies & chilled all 6 hours!

Day 1- Knott's Berry Farm

It turns out, taking someone in a wheel chair to an amusement park has some great perks! We got to cut to the front of the line for the rides she wanted to go on :)

Xcelerator was my favorite ride!! It shot us out of the boarding area at like 95mph & up the huge loop you see behind us! Mom didn't join us for this one :)

Day 2- Disney Land

The happiest place on earth :)

Anthon & Mom on Thunder Mountain roller coaster. She has to be the coolest 69 year old lady I know!! Again, we got to cut to the front of the lines...

But for the rides she didn't want to go on (like Splash Mountain), we finally got smart & "borrowed" her wheel chair so we wouldn't have to wait in the 90 minute line!! I've got a pretty convincing gimp :).

Day 3- Newport Beach

A crazy thing happened while we were trying to find a place to park. A little girl (like 10 or 11 years old) ran out of the ally & straight into our fender on the drivers' side. I thought Anthon had run her over!! When we got out to check on her, she was apologizing like crazy! It was sad- she had tire marks from her knee down to her shoe & I'm pretty sure she broke her ankle. I just knew we were going to be sued, but thankfully her dad saw the whole thing & knew it wasn't our fault. He just came over, picked her up, & took her home. SCARY huh??

Night of Day 3- Our 4 year anniversary!

After the beach we went back to our room, got all fancied up, & went out to dinner at Ruth's Chris steak house (Mom & Roman stayed in & watched a movie). We've gone there for every anniversary, so it's a fun tradition- Plus the food is AMAZING!! I can't get over how much happier I am in our marriage with each passing year! I keep expecting a "rut" that everyone talks about to happen, when things get into a dull routine & you get bored. I mean, it's been 4 years & we were dating 4 years before we got married. Thankfully, I don't think it can happen with Anthon!! He's too optimistic & enthusiastic about our life- it's contagious!! I love him SO much & am so glad he chose me to be his wife!! Here's to another 40+ years!!

1st Father's Day

Today has been a lot of fun! We started out the day by having Roman wake Anthon up (he did this by jabbering softly & touching his face- TOO CUTE) , bringing him breakfast in bed (rasberry waffles & orange juice) & having him open his gifts.

He got matching ties for him & Roman & a Shutterfly book about his & Roman's life together- you can check it out HERE (View the book in full screen if you want to read what all the pages say). After church we took a nap as a family, had dinner, & then went to play games with Peter & Holly. I love days where we get to celebrate having Roman in our life!! Anthon is such a cute father- I LOVE seeing the 2 of them interact together!! It's amazing to me how I thought I loved Anthon as much as humanly possible when we got married, but now that I see him in this role as the father of our sweet baby, that love is SO much deeper!! Ahhh, I LOVE these guys!!

Anthon's Party

We celebrated Anthon's 25th B-day a day early on the 13th. It was a fun little BBQ & pool party & it was great to get to visit with everyone! Here are some pictures of the festivities:

Anthon & the sweet women who tolerated him all those years growing up- I don't know how they managed to stay sane, much less sweet!!

He's butt hurt in this one because Landen blew out one of his candles- I swear, he'll always be a kid at heart :)

5 Months (& 1 week)

This post is a little overdue, so I figured I'd better hurry & do it before life gets too hectic (which it will with Anthon's birthday, our wedding anniversary, & Father's Day all in the next week)!
This boy is growing up so fast I can hardly stand it! Everyone always said he looked like a little man when he was born, but now I see it & I'm sad he doesn't look like a new baby anymore! He FINALLY will eat something other than milk; he'll eat any baby food that I make (especially summer squash!), but so far only likes green beans & carrots from the jar. He's discovering new things around him everyday & seems like he's always watching us to learn more! He's addicted to Baby Signing Time (seriously though, what kid isn't?? It's like baby crack). Sometimes, he will give us kisses when we ask him to- he grabs our faces & literally makes out with our cheek!! It's really wet & gross, but SO sweet at the same time! And, my favorite of all... he loves to play with (not pull) my hair! He just kind of twirls it in his hand & coo's at me... it's the CUTEST thing!! Anyway, here are some pictures of some other new & exciting things:

We took him to the lake over Memorial Day (I know, I'm a loser & never posted about it!) It was a lot of fun, even though his life jacket tried to eat him.
He did swim in the water with me & Anthon a couple of times. What a good sport! Poor kid has to love the water with me as his mommy.
He's getting stronger at his push-ups & tries to scoot all the time. He still rolls over instantly when he's on his back, & then screams cause he hates being on his tummy for too long. It's frustrating for all parties involved :)
This is his version of a lazy boy- this is how he chills while watching his "baby crack". I loved this shot cause he looks festively plump! (Gwen, say it in Cartmen's voice- you know you want to :D)
